Excellent Birthday trip with Laurie, Don, Beth and John. Beautiful day, cool breeze, great fishing. Group started off with a non-stop Porgy bite w/ Bluefish mixed in, kept 20 nice size Scup to 3 lbs. Switched over to Fluke fishing, and Birthday girl Laurie caught a 26 inch Fluke!!! Ended up with Scup Blues and Fluke. Happy birthday Laurie!

Happy Birthday to Mike; he turned five years old and decided to enjoy his day out on the water with his buddies. Mike, Landon and Jess all enjoyed the Porgy bite. Rough seas in the morning then clamed down and the Porgies bite was on. Great trip and Happy Birthday Mike again. BTW, these kids were very impressive fishermen.

Wow, what a beautiful afternoon trip. Four Business guys decided to head out fishing and caught all Bluefish you wanted set them up with light weight spinning rigs and then we switched to Porgy fishing. The sunset was an amazing bonus!

Charter had to fish the flood tide today slow bite compared to the ebb but we still managed to produce huge Porgies. Small Seabass dominate the sound.

Ebb tides remains the best tide for the Porgy bites bluefish are everywhere on the top. Lots of fun throwing poppers on the blues.

Porgy fishing remains good, but have to chum heavy and pick the correct tides. Our group caught several scups to 16" weighting in to 3-1/2 lbs, kept 22.

After taking a couple of weeks off due to the summer doldrums, high temperatures and humidity, today's charter was great!! Weakfish, Porgies, Fluke and Blues all in 4 hours. Excellent bite non-stop action, Porgy bite is back, group kept 20 nice size scups caught 34...Weakfish to my surprise, nice fluke too. Lizzy Pond threw a b-day party for Russ and brought the entire family. Happy birthday Russ.

Party of three today, we headed to the middle grounds and chunked some huge bluefish and then switched over to Progy fishing. Great action in the middle grounds!

Group of four fished off Cranes Neck, caught some nice Porgies and tons of fluke all short. Group went home with some nice Porgy fillets.

Enjoyed a fun group today, we fished the middle grounds chunking for Bass. The first drop produced nice hits and keeper bass we then fished the porgies grounds and caught some nice porgies next on the plan we moved to cranes neck for some fluke action and caught a couple of keepers. Great day, lots of fun and laughs.

Great conditions today, NE wind with flood tide made for some nice conditions to catch Fluke and Porgies. The fluke are now lying on the deeper ledges and Porgies are all over the rocks. Great group today, lots of laughs and fun.

My mom and family had to get into the Porgy bite. My mom at 89 still has what takes she was high hook. Some Porgies are 3 lbers.

Hit the middle grounds searching for blues and bass still a little early; early morning and evening bass are being caught in the harbour and at Cranes Neck. Porgy fishing is HOT 2- 3lbers. |

Fluke fishing ypu'll have to work real hard to find a couple of keepers at the bouys, but inside Pt Jeff Harbour fluke fishing is great.
Porgy fishing has turned on. Just like last year we're catching big Porgies on the rock piles. |

Father and son charter, De Salvo's out for a pleasant afternoon fluke trip. Well, I've been scouting out east this past week and decided to take the two east. Once the ebb tide started to move w/ wind the fluke bite started.
All fluke caught in the deep off b7 and the largest fluke tip the scales at 7.6lbs at 26 inches.
Great bite and day.

This week the fluke slowed downed due to bad weather but the Porgies remain hot. Today, 6/3/12 the fluke bite in the afternoon was great finally wind with the tide works all the time!
Sand eels have not shown up out east yet but plan on running to B9/B7 this week. |

Fluke remain hot, jigging bucktails seems to be the way to go. Miller Beach rocks are holding some nice Porgies. Bass remain at Old Field and Cranes.

Excellent blackfishing today. Ken, Charlie and Roger slammed the blackfish non-stop bite. Caught 35 togs and kept 12 for the dinner plate.

Beautiful morning trip; John Sr. and son John on board for some great blackfishing and Jumbo Porgy fishing. Caught plenty of balckfish but all shorts the Jumbos Porgies and Bluefishing caught of the spinning rods made up for the short blacks. Great action all morning never stopped biting. The two only kept 12 fish, thank you for the catch and release!!!

Excellent fishing, rough water, fast current...but the fishing was hot! Dropped the anchor off Oldfield and fished on non-stop fishing Porgies, Sea Bass, Blackfish and Blue all caught on clams... Wow it could be a great fall season!

First time this year I went fishing just all by myself and it felt great. The Porgy fishing was HOT. Dropped the hook just in front of a nice rock pile in went the chum pot and let the chum bring the Porgies to me. Lock and load, non-stop fishing. Nice size Porgies kept 6 for tonights dinner, perfect fillet sizes.
Caught at least 20 within 2 1/2 hrs of the last of flood.

Beautiful morning trip , Richard and Kim requested to catch Porgies and Porgies we caught. The two limited out in 2 hours and then we went bluefishing, where we caught 5 nice blues.

Morning trip. Rough seas but our group managed well. Two groups of boys along with the dads join me this morning. Henry and Michael with their sons, Christopher, Eric, Thomas and Filip caught plenty of Porgies to wrap up their Labor Day weekend. Great job boys, did well.

Afternoon trip . Enjoyed Hiro and his two clinets, Maiko and Hiroyoshi on board. We did very well Porgy fishing which the group wanted to catch. Afternoon winds picked up so we had to stay close to port. Great day lots of fun and laughs.

Morning trip. Enjoyed James, Suzy, Lauren, Sam and Ashley on board the Port Jeff Star. We started the morning Porgy fishing and wrapped up the trip Blue fishing. Nice catch with the Porgies and ended up catching a couple of Blues.

Star. James and Jamie were enjoying the Labor Day weekend at Danford's Inn and
decided to go out for a morning charter. Jamie was high hook and James
certainly caught some too. Jumbo Porgies the couple limited out in 3
hours and we only kept 7 for the BBQ.

Very nice reunion today for Vinnie and Jimmy (72 years of age) with Jimmy's son Jay. Vinnie and Jim both grew up in the Bronx and met at the young age of 12. Vinnie now lives in Florida and Jim in New York. Both men decided to join up again and plan a nice fishing trip aboard the Port Jeff Star. Well, today was a great day. The three caught very impressive Porgies with Sea Bass and a nice 15 inch Blackfish ( released).
They limited on Porgies and only kept the nice size ones for the BBQ.

Now I know why the term "Party Boat" was created. Today, Ashley threw a birthday party for her boyfriend Conner on the Port Jeff Star. We had Philip, Kevin, Patrick and Lindsay out for the day enjoying Porgy fishing.

Yet another beautiful day. Paul and John planned a family day out without the moms. Paul brought his 3 year old son Kyle and John brought the twins age 7 Mike and Steven. We started the day Fluke fishing which was okay (no Keepers) then switched to Porgies, WOW! 4 lb Porgies were the average catch. Largest I've seen this year and so plentiful.

Enjoyed having Ron, Mathew and Kyle out on Port Jeff Star today. Headed to the middle grounds to catch Blues and Porgies. The family did well with some impressive sized porgies. Had fun with the family and looking forward to another trip with them. It's all about family!

Beautiful afternoon trip to the chunking grounds. Enjoyed having Cory (dad), Bob, Heather, Luke, Carter, and Annabelle a board.
Dad wanted the kids to enjoy their day while visiting from Michigan. We started the trip catching Porgies and then switched over to Bluefish.
Caught nice size Porgies and Blues. Had lots of fun with the family, great time and lots of laughs.

Enjoyed having the Richard Family on board this afternoon, very nice family and was my pleasure to have them out fishing. Unfortunately, the winds were a little strong from the north and which made the fluke and porgy fishing uncomfortable. We ended up inside the harbor to enjoyed the calm seas.

Morning belated fathers day charter. Enjoyed a beautiful morning with a fun group of men and the Porgy fishing good, caught 40 Porgies and the men kept 26 nice ones. Switched to fluke fishing and they caught 15 in one hour, all flood tide.

Fished with a group of men that called themselves "The Blue Anglers." They requested to target Porgies. Paul, Brian,
Carl and Dave caught 28 porgies we dropped about 8, and one nice sized
Bluefish on the Porgy rig, thought we had a 10lb Porgy on. Ended up
having a nice day and everyone had Porgies for the BBQ.

Fished the chunking grounds today with Bob, Bob and Roger.
Early morning trip, today's temp near 100 degrees. Beautiful morning nice breeze. The Bluefish action was non-stop; caught 20 Bluefish up to 14.5 lbs. Switched to fluke and in one hour they caught around a dozen, "no-keeper" bummer!

Enjoyed having Tom (dad), sons, Tom and Matt on board for a afternoon trip. The Fluke fishing has slowed down for now, due to a combination of summer water temps and the commerical draggers working the area hard. But we did manage at least 25 fluke to 19 iches. Tom did catch a nice double header of a bluefish and fluke on the lower hook, I thought we had our first 10lber fluke, damn! Bluefish are schooling in the deep drop offs off Ceder and B11 at depth to 70 ft. We did enjoy jigging the blues. My future trips for now are to head off to the middle grounds for blues and bass and also fish the rocks in shore for Porgies and Sea Bass.

Father and son (Brian and Will) trip this afternoon, tough stiff south wind 15-20 knots ebb tide and full moon to top it off. Well, the team did manage to catch one nice keeper fluke and dropped 2 at the rail thanks to dad with the camera, ha ha! Bluefish were everywhere!

Corinne and Sara on board today for a beautiful day of fishing. Headed to the middle grounds and caught a some nice Bass, moved to B11 for the Fluke and they were plentiful w/ blue fish mixed in. The girls went home with bass, fluke and blues.

Enjoyed having Nick, John and Sam the father on board today. Started the morning off Bass fishing w/ chunks at B11, but the Bass weren't biting. Switched to fluke and caught numerous fluke to 19 inches, John did hook into a nice 24.5 inch 5.5 lb keeper.

Beautiful morning fluke trip. Enjoyed having Dave, Dave and Rich on board. All three men came back to Stony Brook for their High School reunion at Ward Melville HS. They caught plenty of shorts and managed a couple of nice size fluke to 24 inches at 5 lbs.

Excellent day with the Rogers family on board, Ron, Jody and Dave. Excellent fluke fishing on both side of the tides. Very hot day and we totally enjoyed the much needed rain. Caught double headers Dave was high hook with 23 fluke and we kept six fluke to 25 inches 6.5 lbs.

Family charter Bryan Stephanie, Jess, John; Rose and Pete. Slow start due to east wind, outgoing tide and fog. We did manage to pick away at the fluke. Once the fog lifted we spotted the birds working off of Cedar Beach in 70 feet of H2o and we found tons of Bass. Caught six kept four.
Great day, enjoyed the family, lots of laughs, thank you.

Enjoyed having Matt, Judiin, Henry, Cedric, Nestor and Kennth on board they all work at Perry Street Restaurant. Cedric head chef French Quisene in Manhattan. Beautiful day, but slow fluke bite. The last two hours we ran right into a blitzen blues and it was lock and load.
Enjoyed these guys lots of laughs and great times.

First day of summer finally. Excellent evening trip with Michelle, Robert, Alyssa and Dad. Caught some nice size fluke on both bucktails and standard fluke rigs. Porgies are everywhere!

Full day charter Vinnie (Grandfather) Dave, Joe, Jimmy (sons), and young Chris. Started the day off with a nice fluke catch, caught 27 fluke with two keepers. Blues mixed in with fluke fishing on the fluke rigs. Kept 4 blues. Switched over to porgy fishing and limited out in two hours. Nice size porgies to 3 lbers caught. Great Father's day trip lots of fun and really enjoyed this family trip.

Mooring tide at B11. All the bass you wanted caught on jigs just off B11 40-70 ft. Caught 19 fish kept 1. Fluke fishing is certainly picking up with good size fish caught.

Fished B11 and B9. B9 was great on incoming water. Plenty of fluke caught and tons of Bluefish caught using spinning rods. Porrgy are in the rocks off Rocky Point and Cedar Beach.

Fished for Stripe Bass, morning tide at B11, used clams. Caught several bass kept two, sizes ranged from 25 inches to 32. On outgoing tide, we fluke fished at B9 kept three keepers to 23 inches, total for the boat was 47 fluke. Great day.
